Primary Responsibility:

Due to site expansion, we are recruiting for an Afternoon Shift Team Manager at our Ormeau site. As the Team Manager, you will provide strong operations leadership to a team of frontline workers, while developing the team's skill set and supporting other site leaders. You would manage and coordinate all processes and activities during the shift to deliver outstanding customer service.

Roster: Monday - Friday Afternoon Shift (1 PM til 8 pm)

What You'll Do:

  • Planning and controlling KPI performance of a team, and managing all aspects of labour
  • Maintaining compliance to health and safety and driving a safety culture
  • Coordinating and managing work with subcontractors and internal departments
  • Managing employee performance and creating development pathways
  • Lead, coach, and motivate team members to achieve operational and safety objectives.
  • Drive productivity, accuracy, and service performance across all warehouse activities
  • Monitor operational workflows and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure inventory integrity through effective stock control processes and cycle count management.
  • Build strong working relationships with customers, transport providers, and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage shift handovers and communicate key operational priorities to relevant teams.
  • Support workforce planning, rostering, and labour allocation to meet business demands.
  • Investigate operational incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Ensure compliance with site procedures, quality standards, and customer requirements.
  • Champion employee engagement and contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture.

 

What Experience and Education You Need:

  • Ideally, you are someone with exceptional attention to detail, who prides themselves on being deadline-oriented and maintaining a high level of productivity.
  • Australian work rights are mandatory for this position.
  • Minimum 3 years of proven operational management experience.
  • Cold storage operational management experience is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large teams.
  • Knowledge of distribution operations.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Cross-functional leadership with multiple teams.
  • Experience in effective decision-making in a fast-moving business environment.
