Production Supervisor
Americold Dublin
Americold Dublin is seeking a proactive and hands-on Production Supervisor to lead daily production operations, ensuring productivity, quality, safety, and service targets are consistently achieved.
Reporting to the Warehouse Production Manager, you will provide visible leadership on the production floor, supervise operational activities, manage team performance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. This role requires a strong floor presence, spending most production days actively supporting and overseeing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise day-to-day production activities to achieve operational KPIs.
- Maintain a strong presence on the production floor, providing hands-on support and leadership.
- Coordinate daily workloads, staffing, and operational priorities.
- Monitor team and individual performance, addressing underperformance and promoting high standards.
- Identify and remove operational barriers that impact productivity and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with Health & Safety, Quality, Food Safety, SOPs, and company procedures.
- Support inventory control, goods intake, stock movements, and dispatch activities as required.
- Work closely with other departments to resolve operational issues and minimise delays.
- Conduct investigations into operational errors, claims, and performance issues, implementing corrective actions where appropriate.
- Identify training and development needs within the team.
- Provide effective shift handovers and operational updates.
- Deputise for the Warehouse Production Manager when required.
- Complete additional duties and projects as directed by management.
Hours of Work
5 days over 7. Variable shifts from 8am – 9pm
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience in a Supervisory or Team Leader role within a production, warehouse, manufacturing, logistics, or food environment.
- Proven ability to lead, motivate, and manage teams in a fast-paced operational setting.
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety and compliance requirements.
- Experience managing performance, attendance, and productivity.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads effectively.
- Competent IT skills, including Microsoft Office and operational systems.
- Flexible and adaptable approach to meet business needs.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in a food production, temperature-controlled, or FMCG environment.
- HACCP or Food Safety knowledge.
- Leadership or supervisory qualification.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) or production management systems.
- Knowledge of continuous improvement or Lean methodologies.
