What You’ll Do:
Lead and manage assigned spend categories and preferred supplier relationships to strengthen Americold’s competitive advantage. Partner cross-functionally with the Strategic Sourcing team and key business stakeholders to identify opportunities, execute end-to-end sourcing initiatives, and negotiate favorable contracts. Oversee category performance, drive cost optimization, and deliver reporting and insights at all organizational levels. Demonstrate strong leadership and collaboration to develop and enhance processes, tools, and strategic relationships across the enterprise.

Essential Functions 
•    Develop sourcing and procurement strategies that optimize cost, quality, and supply assurance for e-commerce and small parcel categories, along with other key categories as assigned
•    Lead and develop key strategic relationships with suppliers by providing insights on how to best develop and leverage supplier capabilities to meet business needs
•    Negotiate commercial terms, pricing, and contract agreements with suppliers to secure favorable agreements and provide model alternatives
•    Develop a rate shopping strategy on shipping (zone, DIM weight, accessorial) and packaging (dry ice, gel packs, insulation, corrugate, packing materials) for small parcel
•    Monitor and analyze market dynamics, supply competitive landscape, capabilities, and pricing / cost strategies for categories to identify cost reduction opportunities and supply chain improvements 
•    Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers and vendors that meet quality, costs, and delivery requirements to optimize supply base
•    Work closely with e-commerce, operations, marketing, and supply chain teams to understand customer requirements and sourcing needs
•    Support Americold’s business units for new business launches by managing the sourcing and procurement of materials, services, and supplies needed 
•    Develop and maintain sourcing and procurement processes and policies to ensure compliance with Americold standards and industry regulations
•    Report sourcing and category management metrics and scorecards
•    Evaluate vendor performance for profitability and establish service level standards (SLA)
•    Coordinate with warehouse and operations to ensure timely delivery of products and services
•    Identify and mitigate risks related to sourcing and procurement, including supply chain disruptions and supplier performance issues
•    Perform other duties as required
    
What Experience and Education You Need: 
•    Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
•    7+ years of proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, with a focus on e-commerce or small parcel.
•    Category experience in E-Commerce or Small Parcel Freight required.
•    Direct experience negotiating multi-carrier agreements with FedEx, UPS, On Track, and/or regionals.
•    General knowledge or experience with E-Procurement systems knowledge is required (such as Ariba, GEP, etc.).
•    Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with intermediate to advanced skill level in Excel & PowerPoint.
•    Certifications such as PMP or Supply Management certification preferred (ISM, CIPS, CPSM, CPP, CSCP, CLTD, CPCM, CCME,)
•    Willingness and ability to travel up to 25%

What Could Set You Apart: 
•    Master’s degree or professional certification (CPSM, CPP) preferred. 
•    Subject-matter expert in small parcel freight, e-commerce and or related industries such as distribution, retail, supply chain, or logistics preferred.
•    Good communication skills, both written and verbal with the ability to communicate at all levels.
•    Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
•    Ability to coach newer team members and provide guidance on complex analyses.
•    Sourcing category knowledge in specific areas such as manufacturing, IT, or supply chain.
•    Flexible, team and goal-oriented approach.
•    Excellent customer service skills.
•    Demonstrated analytical capabilities such as with complex excel or similar models.
•    Demonstrated uncompromising level of integrity and code of ethics.
•    Ability to relate to others respectfully with concise focused communication to broad audiences from entry level warehouse employees up to senior leadership positions.
•    Public speaking strength with ease conveying business priorities, instructions, and feedback from vendor interaction.

Physical Requirements:
•    Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions.
•    Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending.
•    Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work.
•    Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks.
•    May require travel by automobile and airplane for business.
•    May require visits to warehouse operations in temperatures at or below freezing.
•    May require carrying loads related to travel and the occasional lifting, carrying, positioning, and/or moving of objects weighing up to 20 pounds.
•    Requires the use of various electronic tools.
