The Commercial Manager will ensure the provision of timely and accurate financial and commercial modeling for the ANZ region. Working closely with the International Functional Teams, the Commercial Manager will provide timely and reliable customer pricing, profitability analysis and analytical support to the business with a focus on delivering timely customer pricing and profitability insights to Operations and Business Development Teams.
The Commercial Manager will support the establishment and management of an effective key supplier strategic sourcing process, including development of standard specifications, managing RFP processes and standarisation of supplier contract agreements.
What You’ll Do :
Governance
• Ensure the company complies with its statutory obligations under any relevant law and regulations,
• Ensure adherence with the Company’s Constitution and Limits of Authority,
• Assist with completion of quarterly non-financial Covenant Compliance Reporting and presentation of Monthly Covenant Compliance Reporting to the Directors and Officers of the Company,
• Assist the Commercial Director with timely contract drafting, negotiation and execution of supplier and customer contracts,
• Ensure all supplier and customer contracts comply with Company and regulatory guidelines, and are duly approved in compliance with the Limits of Authority prior to timely signing of contracts and updating of contract registers,
• Develop, operate and maintain Contracts Registers for Suppliers and Customers that meet the needs of the organization and ensures monitoring of compliance with financier covenants,
• Preparation of pricing and business case models for key account RFP’s, property developments and other business expansion opportunities,
• Provide high quality and timely advice and reports to Directors and Officers of the Company,
• Ensure the completion and submission of Statutory, government and industry requested statistical data surveys.
Commercial
• Development and maintenance standardized pricing models which provide accurate, reliable and timely financial analysis of customer pricing/opportunities,
• Preparation of pricing and business case models for customer RFP’s, property developments and other business expansion opportunities,
• Manage the development, implementation and maintenance of standardized customer profitability reporting and analysis tools to provide Operations leadership and Business Development Team with reliable and insightful customer profitability analysis,
• Assist with managing the development, implementation and maintenance of a Strategic Sourcing framework, ensuring all supplier agreements are reviewed, edited and approved in accordance with the Limits of Authority, and that new suppliers are credited checked and meet the company’s credit risk and reputation appetite,
• Ensure all new customers are credit checked and meet the company’s credit risk appetite prior to new customers being accepted,
• Ensure all Supplier terms are reviewed, edited and approved prior the business executing supplier agreements,
• Provide high quality and timely advice, reports and support to the Operations and Business Development Team.
Support the Commercial Director and Leadership Team
• Support the Commercial Director with managing customer and supplier matters,
• Provide high quality and timely advice and reports to management,
• Ensure adherence with the Company’s Limits of Authority,
• Other matters as reasonably required.
What Experience and Education You Need :
• Sound business and commercial knowledge of the Logistics and Supply Chain markets,
• Basic contract drafting knowledge and ability to negotiate complex commercial arrangements,
• Ability to negotiate and model complex financial and commercial arrangements,
• Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment,
• Ability to communicate effectively across wide spectrum of the organization,
• Ability to reason, negotiate, instruct, persuade, or speak with others,
• High level of attention to detail,
• Strong interpersonal skills and judgment in communicating with suppliers, customers and employees,
• Willingness to develop a mentoring relationship in order to contribute experience, skills, and wisdom to subordinate employees for their development,
• Must have strong relationship skills, be able to provide and model leadership behaviors including the ability to defuse conflict. Relate to other people beyond giving and receiving instructions: they must get along with others without exhibiting behavioral extremes; and respond appropriately to criticism,
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
• Must have very strong customer service orientation with high sense of urgency in meeting objectives and deadlines.
What Could Set You Apart :
• Membership to CA/CPA, AICD or CICS is preferred,
• Proven ability in regulatory compliance, contract drafting and negotiation and development of complex commercial proposals,
• At least 3 years’ relevant experience in medium to large organization,
• Proven ability in development and maintenance of financial modelling,
• Proven ability in developing and maintaining complex pricing and customer profitability models, reporting systems,
