Primary Responsibility :

Manage the region transportation operations business unit including but not limited to dispatch operations, customer service, route guide compliance, day-to-day financial reviews/approvals, and overall day-to-day transportation operations.

What You’ll Do :

• Manage the day-to-day dispatch functions and overall carrier route guide compliance.
• Work closely with warehouse operations to manage daily operating plan and plan for future shipment activity.
• Assist in the development of carrier capacity plan and measure compliance of carrier commitments to plan
• Organize dispatchers and customer service associates to effectively manage day-to-day operations in a proactive manner.
• Work with warehouse operations to develop formalized business rules, daily shipping matrixes, and carrier service reviews.
• Ensure consolidation loads are optimized to meet service levels and maximize profitability.
•Supervise daily transportation operations and lead the driver and associate teams.
•Oversee dedicated fleet management, including asset procurement, leasing, contracts, and maintenance.
•Manage profit and loss (P&L), evaluate lane/modal profitability, and develop asset budgets.
•Coordinate carrier capacity planning to successfully meet peak and off-peak demand.
•Resolve complex delivery, billing, and customer service issues with warehouses and carriers.
•Implement standard operating procedures, shipping matrixes, and corrective action plans.


What Experience and Education You Need :

• High school diploma/ BS degree preferred plus 3 years traffic/transportation experience or equivalent combination of experience and training.
• Proven supervisory skills.
• Knowledge of federal, state and local transportation laws.
• Strong computer skills including experience with AS/400 and Microsoft Office suite as well as familiar with WMS and RF.

•Expert knowledge of DOT laws, HOS regulations, and ELD platforms.
•Proven ability to analyze financial data, manage budgets, and evaluate profitability.
•Strong motivator and collaborator who leads by example to drive customer service excellence.
•Excellent organizational, negotiation, time-management, and multi-tasking skills in fast-paced settings.
•Superior written, verbal, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
•Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and specialized transportation/dispatch tools.


Physical Requirements :

• Requires the ability to sit for long periods of time, with frequent interruptions
• Requires several hours per day of sitting, getting up and down from chairs, and reaching, or bending
• Requires manual dexterity with normal hand and finger movements for typical office work
• Talking, hearing, and seeing are important elements of completing assigned tasks
• May require travel by automobile and airplane up for business
• May require a visit facility operations in temperatures at or below freezing
• May carry loads related to travel and occasionally lifts, carries, positions, or moves objects weighing up to 20 pounds
• Requires the use of various electronic tools
• Requires the ability to relate to others beyond giving and receiving instructions: must partner with colleagues without exhibiting behavioral extremes
• Requires the performance of work activities including reasoning, negotiating, instructing, persuading, or speaking with others; and respond appropriately to constructive feedback from executive management
