Americold Internship Experience (AIE):
The Americold Summer Internship Experience is a 12-week, full time, paid internship that takes place over the summer term in various locations throughout the country. The internship opportunity will afford our interns to better understand of the supply chain industry, work on challenging and industry-specific projects, plus the ability to collaborate with organizational leaders, colleagues, and peers.

Explore the tech backbone of a global logistics network. As an IT/Information Security intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience across IT and cybersecurity—from infrastructure and cloud services to network administration and data protection. Work alongside experts to see how technology supports secure, seamless operations in a 24/7 supply chain environment.
Areas of Focus:
Cybersecurity
You’ll collaborate with the Information Security team and other IT departments to design and build metrics that support ongoing security operations. Key responsibilities include performing security administration tasks such as monitoring and supporting various security tools, conducting security reviews to ensure adherence to best practices, and contributing to governance initiatives. You’ll emphasize both technical and analytical skills to strengthen Americold’s security posture through proactive support and continuous improvement.
Network Administration
You’ll support Americold’s Network Operations team by assisting with bandwidth utilization reporting, critical switch log reviews, SD-WAN deployment, and planning for circuit upgrades. It also involves evaluating the current alerting strategy within the company’s monitoring system. Collaboration with both the Network Operations and Hosting teams is key, particularly in reviewing network documentation and tracking IP configurations across the physical network infrastructure. You’ll require a strong analytical mindset and a proactive approach to optimizing network performance and reliability.
Data Science
You’ll collaborate with data engineering and business teams to gather requirements and develop predictive planning and forecasting tools. It includes building production-ready prototypes using historical operational data to enhance appointment scheduling and labor forecasting accuracy. Responsibilities also include extracting and transforming data from AWS Redshift and Oracle databases using SQL and Python tools, developing time series or machine learning models, and implementing data validation and anomaly detection across multi-source pipelines. You’ll summarize insights through reports, dashboards, or Jupyter notebooks and presenting actionable recommendations to both technical and operational stakeholders. Working in an Agile environment, the position emphasizes cross-functional collaboration and the application of analytical rigor to solve complex business challenges.
Software Development in Java
You’ll gains hands-on experience with modern technologies such as Java, React, DocumentDB, AWS, PL/SQL, and web-based frameworks that support digital transformation. Responsibilities include assisting in the design and development of software solutions based on functional specifications, translating technical requirements into system designs and working code, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to learn and apply best practices in software development.
What Experience You Need:
• Currently a rising junior or senior undergrad or Masters level student enrolled at an accredited college/university in Data Analysis, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Software Engineering, Network Administration, Cybersecurity or related field of study.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact comfortably at all levels of the organization including with senior level leaders
• Detailed oriented, multi-tasking, and analytical problem-solving skills
What could set you apart:
• Experience in developing digital transformation apps using AWS technologies like: Java, React, DocumentDB, AWS Technologies, PL/SQL, CloudWatch & GitHub.
• Experience with Docker, Amazon Forecast, SageMaker or JupyterHub in cloud environments
• Working knowledge of applicable hardware platforms
• Understanding of supply chain and warehouse management
• Understanding of Six Sigma or Lean Process
• Data mining and analysis
• Familiarity of database and query knowledge
• Advanced knowledge of SQL
• Strong technical skills: Excel, Python, and Power BI
