Americold Internship Experience (AIE):

The Americold Summer Internship Experience is a 12-week, full time, paid internship that takes place over the summer term in various locations throughout the country. The internship opportunity will afford our interns to better understand of the supply chain industry, work on challenging and industry-specific projects, plus the ability to collaborate with organizational leaders, colleagues, and peers.

What You’ll Do:

  • As an External Communications Intern, you’ll gain hands-on experience supporting Americold’s brand storytelling, media outreach, and reputation-building efforts. You’ll work closely with the communications team to help shape how the world sees Americold.

  • Assist in drafting press releases, media pitches, and social media copy.

  • Conduct research on media outlets, journalists, and industry trends.

  • Monitor media coverage and compile daily or weekly coverage reports.

  • Help maintain media lists, editorial calendars, and award trackers.

  • Support the development of award submissions and speaking engagement proposals.

  • Assist with logistics and content development for external events and community campaigns.

  • Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for storytelling.

  • Perform other communications-related tasks as assigned.

 

What Experience You Need:

  • Current rising junior or senior enrolled at an accredited college/university for an undergraduate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.

  • Educational training that provides for a career in high-speed, high-volume state of the art automated and conventional warehousing or manufacturing

  • Strong writing and editing skills with attention to detail.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).

  • Interest in media relations, corporate communications, or brand storytelling.

 

What could set you apart:

  • Previous internship or campus experience in PR, communications, or marketing.

  • Familiarity with media monitoring tools (e.g., Meltwater, Google Alerts).

  • Experience writing for a student publication, blog, or social media account.

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

  • A collaborative, curious, and proactive mindset.
