What You'll Do

You will perform routine general maintenance and repairs throughout the warehouse including doors, dock levelers, freezer doors, sprinkler systems, roofing, and HVAC systems. You will inspect and test equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and operational standards, maintain preventive maintenance records, and respond to security alarm calls as needed. You will also conduct maintenance on external equipment and grounds and may work flexible shifts including on-call assignments.

Essential Functions

  • Perform repairs and adjustments on doors, dock levelers, freezer doors, sprinkler systems, and electrical components in accordance with OSHA standards
  • Conduct basic maintenance and repairs on roofing systems, and office and break room HVAC systems
  • Inspect and test operating equipment and safety equipment to ensure compliance with OSHA and operational standards
  • Maintain tools, machinery, batteries, and chargers in good working condition and use equipment as instructed
  • Maintain accurate preventive maintenance records and respond to security alarm calls as needed
  • Perform routine maintenance on external equipment and grounds including snow removal, painting, and paving repairs
  • Work flexible shifts as required, including on-call assignments, and perform housekeeping duties to keep work areas clean
  • Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.

     

What Experience and Education You Need

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial or facilities maintenance experience, or equivalent technical or vocational certification
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repair of electrical, plumbing, sprinkler systems, and carpentry
  • Ability to use instruments such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, pyrometers, and pressure gauges for equipment testing and evaluation
  • Skilled in maintenance and repair of doors, dock levelers, freezer doors, roofing systems, HVAC systems, and batteries

     

What Could Set You Apart

  • Experience working in a cold storage environment
  • Vocational or technical certification and/or training preferred
  • Familiarity with Oracle Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Adaptability to changing work environments
  • Collaboration with team members
  • General knowledge of equipment used in maintenance trades

 

Physical Requirements

  • Able to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of minus 45 (-45) degrees Fahrenheit (-43 degrees Celsius) and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold, and precipitation).
  • Able to work at heights in excess of 30 ft. (9 meters) and access elevated platforms, catwalks, and roofs.
  • Able to work in confined areas.
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Able frequently to stand, walk, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (23 kg) frequently.
  • Able to operate hand and power tools safely.
  • Able to meet specific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. (Use of contacts are prohibited when working with ammonia.)
  • Depending on specific role, able to pass a physical and respiratory/respirator fit exam.
  • Able to frequently step up/on or step down/off to mount and dismount material handling equipment.
  • Able to perform fine articulation movements with fingers/hands and/or feet to operate equipment.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment required for any/all tasks.
